This was my first time skiing, so I wrote up my beginner’s tips here:

Skiing as a first-timer

As this was a skiing holiday, there isn’t a lot to say here. Many in the group, who had been skiing before, said this was the most beautiful place they skied. As it was my first time, I can say the same!

I don’t really have recommendations, so instead here’s what we booked.

🏨 Accommodation

Twelve of us stayed in an apartment-hotel Garni Gardena in St. Cristina. We had a luxurious amount of space for us to cook and hang about in. The hotel had a sauna which we all absolutely loved after skiing all day.

The bus also picked us up from right outside the hotel everyday so getting to and from the slopes was easy (just don’t miss the last bus home)!

Equipment

Hired from Intersport. They were great at changing or adjusting any equipment that wasn’t quite right.

Ski pass (and other logistics)

We got the ski pass for the whole of the Dolomites as it allows you access to more regions. It’s not much extra so it’s worth it.

We also got bus passes so we could get between towns easily and to the slopes each day.
