Ah my beautiful, rainy home. This isn’t really a trip, more of an accumulation of visits and memories.

⚡ TLDR

Manchester is well worth a visit, but only if you do the Manchester-specific things. As time goes on, Manchester is (d)evolving into a small London, which sadly means there’s less of a reason to go there instead of the capital.

Having said that, Manchester has a charm and a warm feeling (socially, not climate) you don’t get in the South.

Bakeries

• ⭐ Pollen - highly regarded my my sister and flatmate as the best bakery they’ve been to

Restaurants / Places to eat

• ⭐ SUD Pasta - really good pasta, but a little expensive
• ⭐ El Gato Negro - tapas and probably(?) the most popular restaurant in Manchester, one of my favourites
• ⭐ Worsley Old Hall - the food isn’t mind blowing but I love going here for a Sunday roast, the place is cozy and relaxing and I have great memories of it
• ⭐ Glamorous - proper Chinese food
• ⭐ Find a small fish and chip shop, preferably not in the city centre
• Sugar Junction - brunch
• Street Urchin - interesting asian/British fusion
